Vascutouch FAQ's

Q: What skin conditions can Vascutouch treat?

A. Vascutouch provides a quick and easy method for removing larger vascular lesions such as Telangiectasia (distended capillaries), cherry angiomas, hyperplasia and skin tags found on the face and body. The Vascutouch is an indispensible tool for treating cosmetic vascular problems.

Q: How does Vascutouch work?

A. Vascutouch uses very low levels of Radio Frequency (RF) and DC current simultaneously to electrocoagulate the vessel, without dessicating (damaging) the surrounding tissue. This treatment is self-limiting and vessel specific, resulting in minimal skin reaction.

No medical technique is perfect and no two people are alike. Accordingly, the treatment of vascular blemishes ("broken capillaries" and spider veins) can be addressed with a combination of techniques. Laser treatment may be recommended instead or in addition to a Vascutouch procedure.

Q: How many treatments should I have?

A. Depending on the extent of the capillaries to be treated, a few treatments may be necessary. We may not be able to remove all the unwanted lesions at one appointment. You may also be genetically predisposed for vascular blemish formation, and will develop more of them in your lifetime. You may, for example, have fair skin and spend a lot of time outdoors and thus develop more vascular lesions.
