| SKIN TIGHTENING - THERMAGE |
| The Thermage procedure is the only non-invasive treatment that delivers tighter skin, firmer facial contours and healthier, more youthful collagen. Thermage tightens skin that has lost, or that is beginning to lose elasticity. It is commonly used to treat the face, neck and eye areas, but can also be used to treat the body-especially common after massive weight loss and pregnancy. During the treatment you will experience a brief, deep heating sensation as the radio frequency is delivered to your skin and the underlying tissue. Restylane/Hylaform
Restylane is a new dermal filler designed for treating more pronounced facial lines. It is especially effective in diminishing wrinkles around the nose and mouth (nasolabial folds, vertical lines around the mouth, etc.) and giving a fuller appearance to the lips. Restylane is also proven to deliver a longer lasting effect than traditional collagen injections, with virtually no risk of allergic reaction. Because Restylane is non-animal based it can be administered immediately, without allergy testing.
Radiesse
Radiesse contains tiny microspheres that create “scaffolding” around which your own collagen will grow. The body eventually breaks down the microspheres, however the collagen your body produces in response to Radiesse remains. The effects of Radiesse last about one year.
Sculptra
Similar to Radiesse, Sculptra’s particles help stimulate the body’s own collagen production. Sculptra is most commonly used off-label to treat the nasolabial folds, although some dermatologists and plastic surgeons are now using it to rejuvenate the backs of the hands. Results are generally seen after two to three treatment sessions, and can last up to four years.
Juvederm
Described by some as the “next generation” of hyaluronic acid dermal fillers, Juvederm contains the highest concentration of cross-linked hyaluronic acid of any dermal filler currently available. These attributes provide optimal results with a single treatment of Juvederm in the majority of patients, and deliver sustained results for up to six months or longer. Juvederm is most commonly used to smooth lines on the sides of the nose and mouth, as well as lip enhancement. It can also be used to lift the tip of the nose, or mask a dorsal hump.
Artefill
Artefill is an FDA-approved non-resorbable injectable implant. It consists of polymethyl metacrylate (PMMA) microspheres in a bovine collagen carrier. The collagen helps in the uniform dispersion of the PMMA granules and prevents clumping. You need to have a collagen test if you have never had collagen, and then the Artefill can be injected one month later. It is best used for deep smile lines or nasolabial folds, and it can last up to five years. |

| LASER TREATMENT FOR PIGMENTATION & AGE SPOTS |
| Many smaller age spots and pigmented skin lesions of the face and body are easily removed with IRIDERM Diolite Laser. The laser light is absorbed by melanian (brown pigment found in the skin) causing destruction by heat of unwanted cells while leaving healthy cells intact. The procedure takes only a few minutes and is usually well-tolerated by clients. Some scabbing can be expected in the 4-5 days following treatment. |
| LASER TREATMENT OF BROKEN BLOOD VESSELS AND SPIDER VEINS |
| Precise Laser therapy is the preferred method for treating spider veins in the face. The IRDERM DioLite laser is a specific laser used for broken blood vessels of the face that tend to occur around the nose and cheeks. This laser is a very specific green light spectrum, which has a special attraction for red pigments such as hemoglobin. DioLite Laser is safe and effective - and with no bruising or discomfort, it produces immediate results. After treatment, which lasts from 5-20 minutes, a small scratch-like crusting forms that may last 3-5 days. Patients have no problems going to work or performing normal activities in a day or two. Typically two or more sessions are needed to achieve the best results. |

| SPIDER VEIN TREATMENT |
| Sclerotherapy is a common method of treating spider veins in the legs and ankles. During the treatment a scerosing solution is injected into the vein through a tiny needle. The solution replaces the blood in the vein, generating irritation and corrosion to the wall of the vessel. The body then initiates the natural healing process and the vein begins to dissolve, shrink, and eventually disappear. Treatment requires no anesthesia and can last from 15-45 minutes. After your treatment you may be instructed to wear support hose to help your legs heal. |
| OBAGI CHEMICAL PEELS |
| The Obagi “blue peel” is a chemically superior TCA peel that achieves optimum skin resurfacing. It works the best for pigmentation problems: skin discoloration, melasma, photo aging, or general poor skin quality. Layers of dead skin cells exfoliate and are replaced by new healthier ones allowing the skin’s own clarity and tightness to resurface. After the Blue Peel, skin may exhibit a slight blue tint, which fades within seven to ten days accompanied with the peeling of the skin. The procedure takes 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the number of peel coats applied. The Blue Peel is well tolerated by patients and rarely produces erythma or inflammation. |
| COLLAGEN |
Facial lines and wrinkles can be softened and smoothed out
with collagen injections. Collagen fills the wrinkle lines, as opposed
to Botox which relaxes the muscles which cause wrinkles. As we age, the
collagen in our skin fragments and wears away, leading to wrinkles and
fine lines. Moisturizers can soften your skin and the alpha hydroxyl acids
bring new skin to the surface, but neither can remove the lines cause
by collagen loss. Collagen replacement is a safe, instant procedure which
requires no down time and in 5 minutes you get an improvement that lasts
3-6 months.
However, before having collagen injected, you need to be tested to ensure
that no allergic reaction will occur. Dermalogen can be used for patients
who desire collagen but are allergic to the bovine derived one. Dermalogen
does not require a skin test, but it does require a “touch up”
injection about 2-3 weeks after the initial one. |
